Ray Ban, Prada and Chloé

SUNGLASSES. Summer has arrived (well, it doesn’t look like summer in the Netherlands but the calendar says so), so blow all the dust off of your sunglasses and take them out for a walk! Or are you the kind of person who thinks you don’t have enough sunglasses yet and you’re looking for new ones, like me? Please help me find a new one!

Sure there are the classic sunnies like all above. Ray Ban‘s aviators and wayfarers can be found anywhere these days. Everyone knows Ray Ban manufactured the wayfarers and aviators, but not everyone knows it’s been quite a while when they got developed. The wayfarer has been designed in 1956 and the aviator has been designed in 1936!! Can you imagine people from the 30s walking down the street with a stylish wayfarer or aviator?
All aviators used to be characterized by dark, often reflective lenses and very thin metal frames. The original aviator had green glasses, now they’re even available in pink and blue!
Wayfarers have been one of the most best-selling sunglasses ever. Back then, the wayfarer became that popular because the design was quite innovative.
Both sunglasses are timesless and can be found in all kind of colours.

Besides the classic Ray Ban models, there are other a-ma-zing designs available nowaways. For example Prada sunnies. Now these sunglasses (left) seem to be the most artistic and gorgeous sunglasses you’ve ever seen, am I right or am I right? Miuccia Prada loves arty looks and doughty silhouettes, or even combined. If you know that, you immediately can see who designed these sunglasses, which is also part of Prada’s philosphy: anonymous luxury.

Another pair I found are the Chloé ones. A few years ago I was a huge fan of those big sunglasses (and I admit, I actually still am but they just don’t look good on me). I recently bumped into these Chloé ones (see above) and they’re quite casual, but the eye catcher in the corners of the frame make it more special.

Bottom line: I can’t choose. Besides these I showed you, there are lots and lots more which makes it even harder to find the perfect one. I already own a few classic Ray Bans, but should I stick to this and purchase a classic model again or should I try a pair of sunnies which could be a complete eye catcher for an outfit? Decisions, decisions, decisions..
